Cutting-edge technology coupled with impressive business results gave Auckland-owned franchise company Carpet One the supreme accolade of Franchise of the Year at the 2007 13th Westpac Franchise Awards at the Langham Hotel.

Carpet One also won the award for the best Retail Franchise System in the country.

Head judge Mike Watson hailed the company as a very worthy winner of both the best Retail Franchise System award and the supreme title of Franchise System of the Year award.

The ten year old company provides direct door-to-door carpet sales through a fleet of mobile showrooms carrying more than 1000 oversized samples of all the latest colours, styles and textures in floor coverings from a selection of New Zealand and Australia's premium manufacturers.

 
Carpet One uses a clever laser measuring tool which lets consultants get exact floor measurements, minimising waste and saving the customer money. Consultants also use handheld PDA systems that let them produce quotes and invoices on the spot.

The judging panel were also impressed by the significant re-investment back into the franchisees' businesses and the company's on-going commitment to understanding its customers.
